What about other books?
The best way to find the perfect book for your child is to consult a qualified children’s book librarian at a public library or school. Your local bookstore owner, if he or she loves children’s book, may be a great source as well.
There are also some terrific award lists. Here are some of the best:
ALA (the American Library Association) gives out prestigious awards such as the Caldecott, the Newbery, the Sibert Award for informational books, and the Theodor Seuss Geisel Award. (Vulture View received a Theodor Seuss Geisel Honor!). You can find those award lists here:
